The mission of Montessori Arts and Sciences School is to provide a meaningful, quality Montessori education for children aged 6 - 12 in a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment, where there is respect for the individual nature of each child and where there is development of universal values of humans.
It is believed:
- That a child learns best in a positive atmosphere
- learning is the best reward for accomplishment
- consistency is respected for stability in the learning environment
- freedom within limits allows the child the opportunity to develop self-discipline
- good decision-making can be taught and reinforced
- the inspiration and experiences that are acquired by a child have far-reaching consequences
Montessori Arts and Sciences is a member of the International Montessori Council which has provided four pillars on which our program rests:
- Cultivation within our students of a passion for excellence.
- Development of a strongly held set of universal values which include: self-respect, respect for others, honesty, integrity, responsibility, empathy, compassion, kindness, peacefulness, a sense of concern for others, warmth and a love of community.
- The development of a global perspective and a sense of international understanding.
- A lifelong commitment to give something back through service to others in need.
